| On my declaration of trust (in the trust property section), do I list the supressor I'm having transferred, although it isn't in my posession yet? It stands to reason that I do, but I just wanted to be sure. MJD |

On mine, it lists all property on separate sheets (known as schedule a, schedule b, etc). As you know, you first purchase the item in question, but you cannot take posession of the item until the tax is paid (transfer is 'approved'). You really do already own the item, you just can't go get it yet. If the software you're using embeds the property in the declaration, I'd get different software (or attorney). It's much easier to modify your schedule a than edit the body of your declaration. |
It does put the property in Schedule A. I thought the program put it in the declaration of trust, but I was wrong. My mistake. How thoroughly do you describe the items in schedule A? Do you just need manufacturer, model/style #, and serial #, or is that insufficient? MJD |
That's how mine is listed now. I also plan to put both of the host firearms in the schedules as well. Just in case I kick, my beneficiary will get two really nice rifles to use with the supressor. I wouldn't want to split up the family. |
