| I was told the other day by someone who should be fairly knowledgeable on the subject of SBRs that, if you were away from your home, it was required that your SBR be secured in a gun safe. Any truth to that? |

If you live alone, only you have access to the gun. You're not responsible for somebody breaking into your house, car, locked container, or gun safe and obtaining access to the gun. If you live with other people and wish to leave, securing the rifle in a locking rifle case and taking the key with you ensures that nobody else has access to the rifle. I am not a lawyer. The preceeding was not legal advice. |
OK, what about a weapon owned by a corporation? I assume the officers of the corp. can have access at all times, right? I actually have a corporation and I'm thinking of applying to ATF in that manner to build a SBR. As I understand it, you don't even need a sign-off by your chief LEO if you apply as a corporation. |
