Thinking of starting a small gunshop and I own a RR Uzi and RR M16.  Here are a couple of questions.

Does anyone here rent out their machineguns?

What is the average rental rate?  Is it required that the ammo be bought from the person renting the gun?

Is it a bad idea to rent my RR guns out? (I don't see more than 2500 rounds put through each a year?

I would suggest you talk to see what liability insurance is going to cost you first.

I know what the ins. costs already.  I am trying to figure out how this would cash flow.

theres a local shop/range here that rents a 9mm m16 and an mp5 for 30 bucks a mag with thier ammo. it seems to get some use but not a ton.

One here rents a MAC11 and a MP5. I don't know what they charge but they require that you buy ammo from them and their ammo prices are high.

On the strip in Vegas it would be around $50/magazine.  In Idaho they will want to pay you in potatoes.

Start at $30/magazine and discount as needed depending upon how much they rent it.

Local one here is $25 per mag, I am not sure if that price includes ammo or not.

The places that I've seen do it don't rent out their transferrable machine guns.  They rent out dealer samples.

I do not see how 2500 rounds per year will flow much cash either.

You should get a FFL/SOT, make a bunch of presamples and rent them out.

If a FFL/SOT wishes to make a post sample, do they need a demo letter to make one?

Seems like it would be a great way to bring rental guns to the public, but a pain in the ass to liquidate if you ever chose to get out of the FFL/SOT business.

Depends upon the FFL. if a dealer then they can't make anything any other way than an individual does.

If the FFL is a manuf. license not dealer then they can manuf. post samples, but not buy them without the demo request.
