SBRs need to be engraved with your name/business entity name. The way it appears on my form 1 is, " Derek SXXXX CXXXXX Revocable Living Trust"

Can I abbreviate this to D.S.C Revocable Living Trust ? Or does it have to be spelled all the way out?

Spell out your name and the add "Trust" afterwards, you can leave off the "Revocable Living" part off.

"Derek SXXXX CXXXXX Trust"

Or even "Derek CXXXXX Trust" (assuming SXXXX is your middle name and CXXXXX is your last name).

Don't forget to engrave your city and state as well.

Trusts follow the same guidelines as individuals, and you can addreviate first and middle names, plus states, and you can use acceptable recognized abbreviations for cities. The marking must, however, include enough information to locate the entity who manufactured the NFA device.

Thus, John Fitzgerald Kennedy of Palm Beach, Florida would engrave " J.F. Kennedy / P.B., FL ".

Similarly, the John Fitzgerald Kennedy Revocable Living Trust in Palm Beach, Florida would engrave " J.F. Kennedy Trust / P.B., FL ".

Engraving "Revokable Living" adds no useful info; OTOH, there may be more than one JFK in Palm Beach, and by spelling out "Kennedy" you can eliminate the Klein, Kaplan, Karsten, Kantor amd Keyes family trusts.

Does the engraving have to be visible?  If so, is there a profesional engraver or name someone can priovide that will make it look good?

When you say under the trigger guard, not the removable portion??? Correct???

Thanks,

As long as its on the exterior of the lower receiver, not any extensions/magazines obviously.

Tom Sawyer (check the NFA Sub-Forum in the EE) - he does engraving...
