Need recommendations for a black powder measure to be used with Thompson/Center muzzleloader.
Have also seen the little pre-measured plastic viles for holding black powder, would one of these do?
Thanks.

If its a sidelock I dont think the the preformed charges of Pyrodex would work well if at all as they are designed for inline type BP rifles. I would go with an adjustable brass powder measure -I've seen them at Walmart for less than $10. This also gives you the advatage of working up a load for your rifle not to mention a 1 lb container of pyrodex or black powder is way cheaper than the pre formed stuff.

Thompson Center U-View Powder measure is the best I have come across.

I also use tubes for premeasured loads for "quick" reload in the field.

The U-Vus looks nice,  I use the brass version of it, like this one:

I use either a hollowed out tip of deer antler, or a copy of a mid 18th Century Tinned sheet iron measure.

I also have an adjustable measure for load development.

Then I have original measures that are made of either antler tip or buffalo horn tip.

I use one of those. It is accurate and pretty tough. It is adjustable, which helps until you figure out what laod works best. Then all you need is a fixed measure.
If I ever get around to it I will make something out of an antler or something.

Good advice.  I have been using the U-view for years.  I have older pre-measured tubes as well.  One side is the power (Pyrodex) the other is the sabot and XTP.  The quick loader has a short starter on it as well that comes in really handy.  It is simple but very effective.  My quick loaders were made by Knight.
