I'm thinking about ordering an 1858 Remington re-pro'.
Any suggestions as to what mfg. might be preferable?
What to look out for or avoid? Things a BP newb should know before-hand?

Thanks in advance.

Traditions makes some good 'ready to shoot' packs

Can't go wrong with an Uberti.

Any further advice?

Replace stock nipples with Treso brand, much more consistent OD size for caps & flashhole.

Get a separate cylinder loading stand (makes loading MUCH easier), and extra cylinders (a la Josey Wales).

Also, you can get a conversion cylinder to shoot cartridges in your gun. No FFL needed!

Go with a Uberti, you wont be disappointed.
Traditions is a so so manufacturer in my opinion..
