I'm looking for some illustrations showing paper wrapped cartridges of the Civil War and post war era. Problem is I don't have a clue where to look for such things. I'm familiar enough with how they work, but a friend of mine doesn't have a clue. It's a whole new world to him and thought I'd introduce him to it. We are having a local fair with a Buffalo Soldier reenactor with a display, some original pieces, on hand. My friend asked about the Sharps rifle displayed. A replica, I'm sure, .54 breech loader. The gentleman was telling about having a pouch of rolled up rounds and such. I noticed my friend was lost.
