Well I jumped into the black powder thing finally. I really envy you guys that build rifles; I'd love to build a PA rifle to my county. Anyway, was at the gun shop and saw this Pietta 1858 Remington for $120. Locks up tight, just a little rust inside. 2006 date code and they kept it pretty clean, nothing horrible. Showed my friend and he offered to trade me his Pietta 1860 Army with a holster because he had a stainless Remington 1858 and traded it off. Since I like the open top 1860 more than the Remington, I said deal. I have a brass flask and powder measure coming and I'll head out to Dixons Muzzle Loading for the rest of the stuff I need, but I'm pretty jazzed.
