My couple of TC Renegades. Both .50 cal. The double set trigger rifle was my dad's that I inherited in '05 when he passed. Haven't fired it since I got it. The single trigger, Renegade Hunter I got for Christmas back in the early 80's. This one I have fired a lot and it's accuracy never ceases to amaze me!   |

Kit or full custom? @Birddog1911 Thanks! It's actually a .60 caliber rifle (Getz octagon to smooth rifled barrel). It is a custom rifle made by Ric Lambert. I got it from a gentleman on this site. I'm hoping to take a deer with it this year, but haven't had any luck yet. |

Just got the one in the middle below, had the others for a few years. All 3 are Colt 1860 replicas by Pietta. I think the longer barrel one is the only one which is historically accurate. From what I have read people did cut off their barrels back in the day for greater concealability, but I don't think the factory made shorter barrel versions. Of course I could be wrong and would appreciate it if anyone could set me straight. Attached File |

Here's the CDS A519 tubing I figure will work best - and it has sufficient windage to make me comfortable.  So as to not derail the thread here's my threaded breech golf ball cannon:

Lucky shot from a very windy day as the range Saturday with my camera on a tripod using the 5-shot burst mode (just like my avatar). This is a Traditions Vest Pocket Derringer using only 10 grains of powder to propel a .31 caliber ball. Attached File and here's the result at 7 yards. 1 tiny little hole I circled in red. Got my Uberti Stainless New Model Army out on the line today, with some paper cartridges. Attached File 10 yards standing, nothing really incredible, but I liked it. Attached File Non nitrided cigarette paper, from the Guns of the West kit. The small piece was in the forcing cone. So, I will use the TrueWave end papers, maybe nitriding them as well. My first front-stuffer, a golden age flintlock I recently purchased from a good friend here in town who shoots regularly at a place called “Scuffle Ridge.” This one has a double-set Siler lock and a .40 caliber swamped Colerain barrel. I don’t know who built it, but she will sure as hell shoot. I take her out to the ridge every Sunday that I’m off work, and it is a ton of fun ringing the steel at 100 yards with it. I’m still learning about these rifles, and that’s what I enjoy the most about them: there never really is a “last word” on them, and there always something new to learn.

Midway had this Pietta 1851 for $234 and when they offered free shipping my resistance was overcome, since I have a good supply of balls, powder and caps. It is seen below with my very first first black powder revolver, purchased 12 years ago for about $100 less. The only difference being the older one has a shorter barrel. Like the new one it is in .44 caliber, which I believe may be inaccurate for an 1851 replica, but I have enjoyed it. I will take it to the range this weekend and test it with a couple of different sized balls. Attached File This is my 18th bp revolver. Maybe I have a problem

Attached File My BILwanted a modern smokeless muzzle loader, so he offered me this Encore for $325 dollars. Complete with a bunch of accessories,ie ball starter, spare ramrod, powder measure, etc. Have only fired it two times. Cleaned it vigorously before shooting. Bore looks very good. Went to Dixie and purchased two pounds of Goex. TC barrels are crazy expensive now! |
I've had a Kibler .54 Woodsrunner in walnut sitting for over a year. I want to carve this one and have also had a practice stock sitting for the last year with a design penciled in. Since that time, my work benches were taken over by other crap, but I managed to do some end-of-summer bench clearing to free up some space. So, on with the practice carving!

Just got the 1863 in the middle about 2 weeks ago, my 3rd in .31 caliber. Attached File Shot it last weekend but it was hitting really high @ 7 yards so I will adjust my aim - hold the front post lower - this Saturday. Might also try using some #11 caps. One of the #10 caps I used last week came off after firing and jammed up the action to the point I had to remove the cylinder, which was at least easy with this gun. |
