So I had an 03 FFL from 2010 until 2013.  I am regretting letting it expire and am seriously considering getting a new one.  I mostly know about the process, but in the questions section it asks if you have ever held an FFL.  Obviously the answer is "yes" (an 03 FFL from 2010 until 2013).  When I check that is there any additional documentation that I need to send to them besides the application like I did before?

You could attatch a sheet explaining you let it expire. But it may not be required.

Just check the yes box, and let it go, if they want to know they can look it up.

Don't worry, they know everything about you.

I'm not real worried about that.  I just didnt want my new license delayed because I didn't complete their paper work correctly.

Read the application form. Written in bold print above question 11 it says,

Give Full Details on a Separate Sheet for All "Yes" Answers in Item 11"

So yes, you do have to provide additional documentation. All you have to do is add a sheet with a few sentences explaining why you let you previous license expire. No big deal. I also held an FFL (a regular dealer's license) previously and explained that I let it drop because I wasn't making enough money to justify the hassle. After I sent my C&R application in, no one at ATF contacted me for anything further and I received my license in about 2 weeks.
