I have a chance to buy a K43 that is in good condition. The stock has been refinished and has original sling. The finish on the metal is good, typical wear on the receiver and muzzle. The bore is dark but rifling is good. Numbers matching.
My question is what is a fair price? Looking around I find them from $1200 to $5000. The high end is for a sniper version. Any idea? |

How "refinished" is the stock...completely sanded? Any markings still visible? Poly slathered on?
Assuming it wasn't a heavy refinish, and all else is as stated, I would guess $2500-$3000. Stock sanded to hell will definitely hurt, drop it 1k probably.... But it all depends on the market you are trying to sell in... ETA Does it have the sight hood? Anything in the butt trap? Accessories like sling and hoods, the little spares kit in the butt, can bring big bucks if you want to add them, so they add value...Also what is the code/year? Some are more desireable than others... |

do some studying on parts renumbering so you can Identify if the numbers have been buffed and restamped or not. if they have, just walk away from the gun.
with the stock being refinished and the condition you describe I wouldnt pay more than 1600-1800. depends on how bad you want it i guess. |
