If I get a C&R license will it be a hassle if I move? I live in an apartment and my lease is up in 6 months. Has anyone else ever needed to update an address with them? How did it go?

It's been several years, but I did an address change and it wasn't a hassle at all for me.

There's a form to fill out, and you must notify the ATF 30 days prior to the move.

I think the form is a 5300 . 38 That's from a quick Google search, you may want to search more to make sure.

I did an address change but it wasn't for a move it was for a city name change according to most shipping databases. Filed out the form and mailed it.....received it back within a couple of weeks. Nice and easy.....no problems.

I did it last year and it took about 3 weeks to get my new copy, but its no hassle.

If you move from one state to another, they may fuck with you a bit. One time, they refused to renew my permit until I had a compliance visit "because I moved across state lines". Ombuds were useless, and just repeated whatever the FFLC said.

Easy, fill out the form and you are gtg. I ha to send mine like the week before I moved because I didn't know my new apt. number, no issues...

I just did this. I was not required to fill out a form. I was instructed to mail my current C&R, along with a letter detailing my move. I mailed it, and in about 2 weeks I received my updated C&R. Give them a call just to be sure, as it's not uncommon to get conflicting stories from the ATF.....
