For some reason I really want one of these.  I keep reading here how you guys like them, and the bolt seems to operate smoother and on and on.  Anyways the local gun shop has one in there.  It's got the CAI electro pencil mess on it and the wood is rough, similar to most of the ones I've been seeing here lately.  He's got $169 marked on it and I'm soooo tempted lol.

I know SOG had them for like $100 but they are out.

40 bucks more for a M44... i'd spend the 40 bucks.  Many of the T53's often look like they've fought and lost every war on the planet since 1953 while the M44's can be found virtually unissued.  AIM Wideners has M44's for 219? so I guess that's 50 bucks... but I'd still go that way.  Were the T53 a hundred, it would be more in line.

ETA: Wideners (not AIM)

Yeah, I really hate that I missed out on the $100 dollar deal.

i got one of the last ones from SOG. it arrived last week, and I am very pleased.  like most have said, the stock looked all beat to hell. but the metal is decent, everything except the bolt appears to be matching (including the stock), and the bore looks great.  i took it to the range today for the first time, it functioned flawlessly with very good accuracy at 50 yards. i think most m44s are going for around $250, so it might be worth trying to find a good deal on a T53 on GB.

Then you will really hate that you missed out on the $35 deal that Omega had a few years back!

One of my best shooting Mosins for less than 40 bucks shipped.
