I've done some internet searches but can't find the answer. I have a Enfield Ishapore 2A and want a bayonet for it. What is the correct one?
I also have a Turkish mauser, one that was re-chambered to 8mm Mauser, what is the correct bayonet for it? I found one at IMA military surplus, but not sure if it is the "correct" one. No reason for having them, other than since I started collecting mil-surps I've wanted correct accesories for them. I just ordered a bayonet from the CMP for my M1 and need bayonets for the rest Thanks in advance. |

The correct bayonet for your Ishapore 2A is an Ishapore shortened Pattern 1907 bayonet. These come in a couple of variants (false edge, purpose made vs. converted, etc) but they are all perfectly fine for your 2A.
IIRC while there are a bunch of Turk Mauser variants they all use the same (Model 1935) bayonet. |

The Ishapore bayonets well be marked:
R.F.I. Rifle Factory Ishapore N.W.R. North West Railways M.I.L. Metal Industries Lahore J.U. unknown The 2A probably would have had a late RFI with the heavy square pommel. Link for Bayonet |
