Hey guys, I've been wanting a 1903 for a long time and came across one at my local dealer who is selling it on gunbroker.  I guess what I'm really asking for is help on what these rifles are going for and what kinds of things i should be looking at.   Here are the details I was able to get...

Auction is for a U.S. Springfield Armory model 1903 chambered for 30-06. This is in real nice condition, parkerized metal finish, including on the bolt, has a Lyman 48S rear sight and a Lyman front sight. The barrel is marked SA (Springfield Armory) and the date is 8-42. Bore is bright and shiny with strong rifling. The serial number is 8837XX which would indicate a production date of 1918.

Thanks guys.

depending on condition, $600-700. If it's been drilled for the Lyman sight that's a minus in my opinion.

Just my opinion but a drilled and tapped 03 takes a major price hit, about 25%.  I don't think it would sell for much more than $450 or so.

A sporterized '03 is worth $150-200, tops.
