Yep.... it really depends on the rifle they used for the conversion. if all the stars are aligned right and they use a rifle with an excellent bore and the rifle is bedded good they can shoot verywell and can be made to shoot even more better with some trigger work.
The Century Arms repros are really hit and miss as they weren't to picky about the rifles they used as basis for conversion. Inter Ordnance and Copes were far more pickier about the condition of the rifles selected to be repro'd. A good one.... expect < 2min with generic quality surplus 54R. |

I own one, bought it from SOG, when this first batch came in a year or so ago. I believe the sniper conversion is done in the Ukraine, as they have a tag that comes with them about how the optics and mount meet inspection criteria, as being up to standard for WWII spec guns. The rifle I have has a really nice bore, and I have done some trigger work to it to get it shooting even better. I have not bedded it at all, and i can hold a 8" round plate at 300yds with it, and the best group i have got at 100yds is about 1.5-2" I have shot other shell casings at 50yds with it though It really only like the Czech steel case ammo though, as far as surplus ammo goes, haven't tried any commercial....

Here's a group at 100yds Mind you this is nowhere near the best this gun will do, this was pretty much a speed group, fast as i could shoot it, it was cold

Here is one I put the together from a 1943 Ishevsk ex-sniper. 3X pu scope came from a dealer in the Ukraine. Has the heavy picket post reticle. I shimmed the action , worked the trigger and added a return spring. The thing I don't like is there isn't much eye relief on the scope. you have really crawl up on the stock to get a decent sight picture. Its accurate with Brown Bear 203 gr. ammo  |
