My C&R expires today and no sign of the replacement. They did cash my check in late February though. Funny how they're quick to do that part of it.

So who do I can tomorrow to find the status of my license?

Well aren't you the comic Thespian?

I really don't feel like wading through a bureaucratic nightmare looking for the right "department" or such. I was hoping someone already had the number to the right dept. and would save me a bunch of b.s.

I was facing the same situation, that my c&r expired yet I had not received the renewal. I emailed to [email protected], explaining the situation. Received reply early morning the next day. The reply said that they had sent my new license a month ago, and they apologized that I didn't receive it. A new co[y will be sent out the next day. I received the license several days later.

Well crap....

Just got off the line with ATF.

Just backlogged. No notes on the app indicating problems or rejection or something other hang up. So we're just waiting 'til they get to it.

I renewed mine last Oct and don't remember, but... I think it came pretty quick. Possibly, 3 weeks. Hopefully they'll get it out to you soon, hate to miss out on something you want, and the discounts.

The lady said they could print of a letter for temperary use. For whatever reason I declined but think I'll call back in a couple weeks "because I found something" and maybe the next person will put it at the top of the pile.

Thats odd...  I mailed my new license app on April 1st and got the FFL in the mail on the 27th.

Renewals shouldnt take longer than new apps.

Since you renewed your C&R license before it expired, the licensee does not expire, and that is why you need the Letter of Authorization.

I wonder if it goes by state?  I wrote the check for my renewal on 4 April and it went out in the mail on the 5th.  I just received it in today's mail, 3 May.  I notice a fellow Texan a few posts up received his in less than a month as well.

Boy THAT's some good news.

I do realize I need the Letter of Authorization in hand before I can purchase another C&R in the usual, licensed manner. But no one has anything in stock that's catching my fancy and there are no funshows on the immediate horizon so I declined her offer to send one.

But next question, does Midway, Brownell's and such accept the letter (for dealer discounts) or will they only take the actual license. I was putting together an order and would hate to miss out on the discount.

Same boat as you, sir.  We have the same expiration date on our licenses, and I too sent payment in February (check posted against my account on 2/22) and have not yet received my replacement.

ETA:  Update 5/31 - Just received my renewal in the mail.
