Hello all,
I had recieved a US model 1917 Remington from a uncle a few years ago before he passed away. The only thing wrong with it is that it is missing a complete bolt otherwise it is a matching gun (at least as far as being Remington). He told me he took it out of a garbage can in his neighborhood some 40+ years ago. Must be why the bolt is missing, since he said he found it that way. I have searched and searched and only found a few place that have either have the parts or the complete bolt I can buy from them on line. I am not familiar with these guns and I am trying to rebuild it and not really looking to put a different brand bolt in it. If anyone know's of a place that I can buy parts from other than GB, ebay, Sarco, Springfield shooters I would appreciate it. Also if anyone know's of a exploded view of the gun on line that would be nice to since I really am sure what all the parts of the bolt are. I know the bolt and the stop are marked is there anything else that is marked to keep it all the same ? Would it hurt the value a lot to have a different bolt in it, Winchester or Enfield? One last thing does anyone have feedback about Sarco I have never dealt with them before, I e mailed them they said they have it in stock but couldnt tell me anything about the manufacturer's they had. So I was going to call them tomorrow and see if they are like springfield shooters and charge a few dollar's to search for one. Thank you, Brian |
| You will pay more for A Remington bolt vs a replacement bolt. Most all of the ones you will see for sale will be from one of the companies that made replacement bolts during WW2. Your best bet will most likely be to keep checking the auction sites and hope it headspaces when you do find one. |

I dont mind paying more for it seeing I have nothing into it as it is and I am not in a hurry its been sitting in the safe for awhile now. |

Here's some better sources of parts in addition to Gun Parts Corp. Talk to them and they'll probably hand pick you parts for your make of rifle:

DO NOT fire the rifle until its checked. |
