I know that I need to repalce My NO4 MK3's bolt head, however my buddy tells me that I need to go hp to a size 6.  I thought that the Enfield stopped at size four or five.  Can any one clarify this for me?

I heard they came out with a 6 later in the war, but I have never seen one. If it's that far out I would probably take it to a gunsmith. I'm sure someone here knows for sure, but if not, try posting you question over at surplusrifles.com.

I never have heard of a No 4 Mk3.  A size 3 bolthead is the biggest that I've seen.  You need a headspace gage.

My friend is a gunsmith and he did guage it for me, hence the recommendation for the larger bolthead.

I've got a #3.  As near as I can tell my JC was made with one.  My No. 4 Mk2 was made with a #2 bolt head.
