Just recieved a quite nice k98 from classic arms.  Only problem hood is the front barrel band is being quite stubborn.  Have a clamp on the front part of the spring and back the tit that hooks into the band about half out, but after about 45 minutes of trying wood, rubber mallets, punches, and anything else that wont totally mar the metal or stock im wanting to know if anyone has any suggestions to get stubborn front barrel band off.  Thanks all.

I used a plastic squeeze clamp like in the pic and a metal punch as a spacer to get mine off.

After alternating soaking in CLP and using a punch, 4 hours later it came off, thanks
