I have come into possesion of a US Remington model 03-a3. The serial # is 3375xxx. The metal is chromed on the outside. Very good condition 4 land(?) barrel. Missing the rear sight and the front sight is missing the key and pin to hold it on the barrel. The stock and the exterior of the rifle is also great. No gauges, not painted. White faded sling. On the barrel near the front sight is an R  A which I assume is Remington Arms(?) below that is a 1- - 3.
On the side of the buttstock looks like a stamped RA. Anything or anywhere else I should look for markings? I am not planning on keeping this(I just got a Garand) so I am trying to determine a value and sell it or trade it. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I will post pics later. My wife took my camera and won't be home until tonight

Maybe $400 or so.  non factory chromed military guns lose value, so that price is about 30%, or so, off a standard Remington. Honestly, at $400 it might be hard to sell.

Hundred bucks or so maybe? It's really just a wall hanger IMHO. Maybe a bit more if it has a great stock on it.

I would say it depends on the condition of the stock.  Around here you would have a heck of a time getting $300.

Are you referring to a Remington made Springfield 1903A3?  If so, could it be a parade rifle?  Weren't only potentially unsafe rifles converted to parade rifles?  I seem to recall something like that.

Remington made rifle 03a3. Seems that all the potentially dangerous one were serial #ered under 1000000. Had fragile receivers. m1903.com/03rcvrfail/ Also I would think that anyone that could be dangerous would have had the barrel plugged. I guess from what all you are saying, I'll just keep it. Anybody have a rear sight, front sight key and pin?

Think you are a little confused. All 1903a3's are safe. Its only 1903  s/n under 800,000 for Springfield and 285507 in Rock Island is considered unsafe to shoot.
