04-20-2007 --- Application Submittted 04-24-2007 --- Application Fee Charged to Credit Card ??-??-???? --- Application Approved ??-??-???? --- License Received So I finally decided to submit the application for my C&R. It took a while but I figured, it's fairly cheap so just get it done. I contacted RK Enterprises and ordered their C&R FFL kit. It came today and it was one of the best ways I have spent $24.95 plus shipping. Their kit made filling out the application a breeze, and the booklets are going to make keeping track of my C&R FFL a snap. I would highly recommend RK Enterprises and their C&R kit to anyone looking or thinking about getting a C&R. However I do have a couple of questions about the C&R. In the personal firearms record book, do I record all my personal firearms (Glocks, ARs, Remington 700s, etc.), or just my C&R personal firearms (Mosins, K98s, P38s, etc.)? |
| That is correct, only the C&R weapons purchased during the time that you are licensed. In response to your question on time to process, it took mine a total of 12 days from sealing my envelope to opening theirs. It seems that some ATF offices are quicker than others. I also have been a CCW and armed guard licensee in my state for about ten years as well as many firearms purchases, so I was probably easy to check out. |

OK I am confused. Tell me if I am wrong: If I purchase a C&R gun from a dealer, it goes into the collector book. If I purchase a C&r gun from a private citizen, it goes into the personal book If I purchase a non-C&R gun, I do NOT have to log it anywhere. Am I right? |

I believe that any C&R gun purchased while you are licensed is logged into your book. even if it is put on a form 4473, at least thats the way I understand it. It doesn't make sense but what Govt' agency does? ![]() ETA-- C&R purchase from private civvy--goes in bound book C&R purchase from 01ffl---goes in bound book NON-C&R doesn't have to be logged anywhere by you, |
