| Didn't the "C" have an M84 scope or was that the D? Lets start with an aftermarket cheekpiece, non original pronged flash hider, wrong scope, wrong mount, wrong sling and I'd bet a non period correct Garand. The seller doesn't even state the make of the Garand. I would almost bet it a mid-80's Springfield Inc. garand (not that there is anything wrong with that) for what it's worth also. I have a Springfield Inc. M1 that I purchased brand new in 1985 for $400 and I have never had a problem with her FWIW. I believe the last Garand rolled off the assembly line at Springfield in 1957. |
You cannot even say hello to the seller with only 2 grand. Real Ds go for 4k and up with Cs getting into 9k and up. CMP is auctioning a C with mount only, no accessories whatsoever (no scope, no flash hider, no cheek rest, nothing) and the auction is at $7900 with more than a week left on it. I think a complete, but true D or C clone would be more than 2 grand. |
I was trying to be gentle, but yeah; you are right; real C or D Garands are high dollar price items. |
