I just got an M44 from Inter Ordnance and it came with a Leather sling with a buckle on one end and two holes on the other end. How the hell do you put the sling on? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Pics?  Mosin slings have a "Dog Collar" on each end that goes through the slots and buckles like a collar.

If I can get ahold of a Digi Cam I will try and post pics......I know, I know, Im stuck in the stone age for not having one. This sling has a buckle on one end and two holes at the opposite end. It definately doesnt make much sense to me.

Edit: I know its not the best pic, but I found it on the net. This is the sling that came with my rifle..... Buckle at one end and two holes at the other.

Looks like you have the wrong sling. Here's a pic of the actual dog collar sling :

I don't think you could even use the sling you have. If it helps any, my M44 came with the wrong sling as well.

Where did you order your rifle from? Mine came from Inter Ordnance. Where did you get your dog collar sling?

That looks like a Finn M39 mosin sling. It won't work without dog collars on a regular mosin. A brass stud is what goes on the end with two holes.

Get one with dog-collars here. About half way down the page.

M44's use a leather sling that attaches with a brass stud on either end.

Im pretty sure its not the correct sling. It doesnt even fit in the sling holes on the rifle.

Not that I am shilling for somebody else, but I just ordered a dog collar sling from this guy in the EE. www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=131&t=398329

The one he posted is definately not the correct one. However there is a leather sling for the M44 that attaches with brass studs on both ends of the sling. My M44 came complete with its original sling which is of this pattern.
