[ARCHIVED THREAD] - French .308

anyone ever hear of French .308? It looks like it was mfg in the early 70's its nato stamped. and there is also SFM and 68 on the head of the case. i found a great deal on it but i have never heard of it before. any info?

Never heard anything about their 7.62 NATO.

If it's nato stamped it should be good to go. Even if it is made by the French.

The french make excellent weapons and ammunition. Just make sure it is not 7.5 French Ammo. They made very little 308/7.62 NATO ammo. Virtually all earlier French military ammo is corrosive by the way..

It's good, for the French, when you shoot it a white flag comes outta the barrel.hock.gif Only kidding, if it's NATO stamped, it should be good. I've never shot French stuff, but I wouldn't pass it up, at least to try it.
