went to a gun show up here in NY with MRIman and Carbineer...

came across a 8mm Egyptian Hakim

real nice wood, and metal was in fantastic shape....

shot almost/approx 400 rounds through it today....talk about a noise maker!

sharp shooter too...complex (maybe overly so), but fun none the less

so ugly, so unique, i love it....the poor mans G43

Edit:  how did i do on the price and quality?

You did good, very nice piece. I've seen a lot that are really beat to hell but that one looks good. I wish I wouldn't have sold mine now.

Was it reliable?  Accurate?  Easy to shoot?

Did you get a chance to shoot it off a bench and if so what kind of groups did it shoot?

Perspiring minds want to know.

Good aquisition, I should have bought one when I could have.

Congratulations.

It wasnt reliable in the beginning for three reasons
1) I wasnt sure how it worked 100% (with safety on/off and chambering new rounds)
2) the FCG area was PACKED full of grease
3) the action screws worked loose and caused malfunctions

After I shot a few hundred through it, tightened the screws, it was good to go.

I was able to make ragged one hole groups at 25 yards, iron sights, using a makeshift sandbag, and old 1950s Yugo 8mm ammo.

I would like to try to shoot this out at a distance (100-200yards) and see how it performs.

Did I do well on the price?  Whats this worth?

Also the gas tube wont break free from it, as it should...how big an issue is this?  I just dumped windex down it, cleaned out with compressed air, sent down some Rem Oil, then again with the compressed air.

Unless I'm missing something, you didn't mention what you paid for it...

Fair question considering he asked "how'd he do on price"
