Has anyone shot one of these? It look likea nice 308 bolt action it looks like it might be a good scout rifle if you use the right optics. I saw one in a magzine and really liked it and I'm looking to buy one but have had no luck on finding anyone who has one for sale. I'v placed a WTB ad in the equipment exchange. |

They haven't been imported in more than 8 years. So no distributor will have any. I see at least one at every decent gunshow I go to. Saw a very nice one several weeks ago, but couldn't bring myself to get it. You will probably have better luck going to shows than trying to find one on line. BTW, mine holds about 2 inch groups at 100 yds with mil surp ammo. They really are great shooters. |
ar-wrench Can you post some pics and pass on some info. I was thinking about doing the same to one of my 8 or maybe even my 7. Thanks tayous1 I love mine. Great handling, great shooting firearm. A serious blast. I never thought I would say that about a bolt but this one does it for me. Give me an im with a number and I'll pass it on to the guy I bought mine from. Steve 'Cityrepo61' |
I used an XS Scout Mount to mount my scope. Leupold has a "scout scope" that is made for rifle use, it is not a pistol scope. Mine was about $200 and they all have a no BS lifetime guarantee from Leupold. I left the front sight assy off the gun when I put the scope mount on it, but it will go right back on if I wanted to. With the scout setup, there is no need to bend the bolt or screw with the safety. If you ever sight down an FR8 with a scout scope, you will HAVE to have one. It will take me several days, but will try to get some pics up. |

I love mine even though it doesn't get shot much. Definitely one of those guns I wished I had bought more than one of. Mine was in 95% condition when I bought it and was selling for about $180. I haven't seen any for sale in a while or I would definitely buy another. |
