I just got a Finnish Nagant m27 It has the modified endcap, A sling swivel through the rear hole in the stock and it is marked 1934 on the barrel along with the old Tikka logo and D stamped on the barrel. The thing that confuses me is that it is stamped with the SK "S" emblem on the stock.  I cant find any refrences to the SK having M27s. any help would be appreciated,  Pics to come.

Finns never let anything go to waste. They may have spliced the butt of a 28/30 stock to the front end of a M27 stock at the mortise.

Best explanation I can comu up with.

Actually the way I understand it is that it started out as a 91 stock but had the fore end replaced because the 91s were to thin (they had to be carved out for the thicker finnish barrels) and cracked under the stress of bayonet use.

Go to this site.  http://7.62x54r.net/  It has a wealth of information on all variations of Mosin Nagants.  I have a Finn M27 and two M39's.
