I'm in the military, have a C&R license and live in a state that requires firearms registration.  I do not like to have to register my firearms, however I have complied with all that I have in the state I live in.  If I were to buy a C&R rifle or shotgun in another state, which I claim as my military residence, and store it with my parents, who live in that same state, will I run afoul of the law?  I assume I must log the C&R weapon in my bound book, but I feel it could cause some confusion or much worse if I am audited by the BATFE and cannot produce the weapon as it would be stored in a different state.  Any insight/comments out there?

I thought you had to have guns stored at the site printed on the license.

I would want a BATF letter on this one.
