Hello all. I recently aquired a Remington Model 4 Rolling Block take down .22 short / long rifle. Does anyone know what year(s) these were made? I know the span for the entire model line, but that is all. It is the lever take down, rather than the knob type. Octogon blued barrel. No markings on case colored receiver. Looks like a serial number on bottom of barrel. I know the early ones were solid frame, and then these, and then the round barrels and the knob take down. Also, I am guessing that it is worth $250 - $650? Receiver is in good shape with nice color. Action very good. Some pitting and marks on the barrel, but finish is good. Breech face looks good. Furniture has usual dings. Iron buttpad, rusted surface. There is a 4"+ long sliver of wood missing on forearm along barrel on right side. (Probably from take down carry) Haven't scoped the bore, but I can see through it, and can see some rifling - lol. Natural pointer. Very handy. Bet it was fun to shoot. Always liked the Rolling Block. Can post pics if you like. Thanks for any informed commentary! |
