I have several rifles still in the greese.  It is a good way to store duplicate rifles long term.

Just be sure all the metal is covered and wrap in the origional paper or plastic wrap from the kitchen.  The rifle will be mint for your great great great grandchildren.

If I left mine in the cosmoline and didn't test fire I would not have found out that I purchased a lemon.

Best to clean, test fire and if you so desire then lube up and store later.

i found this site looking for cosmoline.

they sell cosmo in a spray can, is this the same stuff they have on rifles form AIM?

from what i've seen, they are covered in thick grease rather than a fine, spray film.
