| Ok so I am about to get my first C&R gun. I just ordered a bound book from R&K. For the bound book, I understand everything except what I am supposed to put in the "Receipt" column. Do I put my name/address or the dealer's? And, under the description column what am I supposed to put for type? Rifle Pistol etc? |
Do you have your Fed. Reg. book in hand yet? Look in it and there's a sample page of what how to enter the information in the book.

I looked through it and it had examples of what the bound book pages look like but it did not have any examples of what goes in which field. The Reg book they sent me is the 2005 edition. I got it in the mail last week. Can anyone answer my question? |

Application mailed: March 14th, 2006 Credit Card Billed: March 20th, 2006 License Arrived: April 3rd, 2006 A stack of Dealer Letters sent April 4th, looking forward to the MidwayUSA discount. From what I hear I should recoup my licensing fee in my first magazine order. In my dealer letters, I also included a copy of my NC DDL and Ammunition Waiver statement as CDNN , Midway, and others seemed to require that although I'm not sure if that would still be required when a FFL-03 is on file. -bp |
I've ordered ammo from Midway without an ammo statement, although it never hurts to have one on file. |

On page 2 of this thread, someone asked about the hunting license question under section 10. I got a hunting license once a long while ago, but it is likely long since expired. How do I answer that part then? The form warns that if I haven't got a hunting license, I likely can't be an FFL. WTF?  ETA: I am pretty sure I had one, it expired, I threw it out. So then what? |
That is for nonimmigrant aliens, if you are a US citizen you just put your name on the first line of section 10 and skip to section 11. |
Just found this thread, and I'm really surprised to see the turnaround times reported. I mailed my application back in January, my credit card was charged on 2/3/06, and I still haven't heard a thing from them. I'm starting to get a bad feeling about this; I hope they didn't loose it. Called the number on the first page but couldn't get past the answering machine; I hope they return messages.  ETA: They called me back later that day and told me my application was in the system and still being processed. Almost 5 months and counting... |

Sent in my C&R application 4/20/2006. CC charged 4/24/2006 ATF says I am "in the system" since 4.28.2006 Most guys in Florida get it in three weeks, but since I am in Miami, things may be different. Any one out there from South Florida get a C&R lately? How long did it take, and is it worth calling to track the application? BTW, I think the hangup may be my CLEO in my area; the powers that be fragmented the county into separate areas, and there is no central authority. Hopefully the CLEO whose adress I wrote on the application is the correct one. Jorge |

Sent app 1/19/06 CC charged 1/23/06 Still waiting on that lady that does Illinois and Missouri (I believe it was) She hasn't returned my inquiry (politely asked what the status was) from last week. (They are too pathetic to answer their own phones). This is a renewal for gods sake! Can't wait until the BATFE gets restructured!!! Fire all of the morons that can't do their job OR just take their job WAY to seriously! honeThey are referring to a charge that I had received back in 1990 .....which of course had existed when I got my first C&R license and now it seems it is "a problem". The irony of all of this....I report to Oklahoma City June 6 for a job I took with the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration). |

Still waiting after 5 months... Funny how they charge you up-front (my CC was charged within a week of me sending in the application, which was back in January), and then take their time to process it.  Getting paid before doing the work...

I got my CHL early this year, but moved in June. Mailed application to move collection June 19th, received ammended license today (July 17th). |

Here is a copy of the first page (actually Copy 2 - CLEO). I had already filled out Copy 1 - ATF (its the same) Its four pages (two double sided) and I believe it has to come from the ATF (mine did), since there is no option on the ATF website for printing it. There was no citizenship form. These pics represent the entire package I received from the ATF (plus a receipt merely stating what they sent). I received this package last week (I had requested it approx 1.5wks before that) and it is labeled: ATF Form 7CR (5310.16) Revised May 2005 in the lower right hand corner. Photobucket automatically resizes so it may be a bit difficult to read.     |

| yep , i live in wonderful nassau county ny. i can't wait to see what i have to do to get a pistol permit, the woman agent who called from brooklyn said the inspection was because on 9-11. i know i'm clean, my son's 15 we both took hunter and bow hunter courses, and the "safs" class in april. i'll let ya's know next week |

Stupid question #27 - In Section 9 of 7CR - The space where you're expected to write your info is rediculously tiny. Take Home Address: How do you "provide every address you have had in the last 5 years" in a 1 1/8" X 1 3/8" box? Microdot? Seriously - Do I include this info and the other info requested in Section 9 on a separate sheet? If so - What other info do I include on the separate sheet - Name Addy DOB SSN? In the space in Section 9 where the info would go if I could write in 6 point type do I write "See spearate sheet"? Thanks in advance |
