Anybody know of a mail-order place that actually has surplus 303? Preferably non-corrosive (i.e., Greek), and/or on clips. I'm having trouble finding any, it seems like it's just about dried up. jafager |

It's all dried up. No Greek or SA PMP left anywhere, unfortunately....except maybe still some left at a show or something. About the only thing available is the crappy Pakistani ammo & some DAC & WWII brit stuff, but those are hit and miss and the Paki ammo is horrible. Some may show up in the future, but amongst the serious enfield collectors, there's not much hope of that in the near future. Right now the best bet is the HotShot .303 that AIM has for $5.95 per 20. It's very good stuff, and reloadable too. PMP & S&B are good commercial rounds too, if you find a good price on them. |
I ended up with 300+ rounds of (what I think is) Pakistani. I was going to stockpile it and shoot the non-corrosive stuff, but maybe I'll just burn it up. What's wrong with it? Misfires would be great for shooting ball & dummy, but I'm not so keen on ammo that hangfires or is otherwise dangerous.
I think I'll just buy a case of something commercial, reload the cases once, and then throw them away. That should be a pretty big safety margin, and I won't have to worry about cleaning up after corrosive. LOL I don't have anything that shoots 308, but I think I'll start stockpiling now, while it's cheap <g>. Thanks for the advice. jafager |

The Pakistani ammo does hangfire terribly, and I had alot of split cases. Not good. As for reloading, you might consider neck sizing the brass, you could get 30 or more resizings safely out of good brass if you neck size. You'll have to restrict the brass to one gun, but it'll go forever and may be a tad more accurate than FL resizing. |

This guy apparently has some SA for sale...don't know him, but maybe worth a try...very good stuff if it is in good condition www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=47&t=197034 |
