[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Recommend a thread protector 10/22

I am a novice in the 10/22 world and recently took advantage of the Green Mountain black Friday sale to get a bull barrel for my 10/22. It didn't come with a thread protector can anyone give me a recommendation or a thread protector. The barrel I got is stainless and it is not fluted at all.

Any thread protector will do...it's a simple part to make and I don't feel that one is any better than the next. You can buy them on ebay or some other online vendor for cheap.

1/2 x 28 nut works, you can grind down sides if you want. Cost about 58 cents.
