| Hi Guys, I just bought a Kidd 10/22 with the UWL barrel. What is a good scope to put on this beast? Thanks. |

Quoted: I just run a Nikon 3-9x40 on mine. I used Warne Quick Disconnect rings as well. Recently, I've seen the scope alone for $100-120. Still a good buy. |

Well...since you're asking. If you have the budget for it, the Pride Fowler Industries (PFI) 22LR scope is amazing. The glass is awesome, the drop compensator is dead accurate and is calibrated for both suppressed and non-suppressed ammo for ranges from 50 to 220 yards, and the 3 color lighted reticle works great in low light. It's a first focal plane which means your point of impact never changes as you change magnification. I didn't like the first focal plane at first but as I've gotten used to it, I will never own another 2nd focal plane scope. Downside is that they are $350 but since you've already invested in a high end platform, why not ensure it has a great optic also. I have a tactical solutions X-Ring suppressed with a KIDD 2# 2 Stage trigger.
It's not a well known scope like a Nikon but man does it rock. There's a reason you don't see these for sale used. Once people use them they keep them. 12x may be a bit much for some but I enjoy knocking quarters off the fence at 100. Here is a link: PFI Rapid Reticle .22lr scope

| see if you can find a Tasco World Class 6-24x44 AO with 1/8minute dot and 1/8minute clicks on the used market...it was very effective back in the days of amateurs shooting the Chevy Sportsman's Team Challenge...mount it on a cantilever mount off the barrel, not the aluminum receiver... |

What do you guys think of this scope? If it turns out to be bad on my KIDD, I could throw it on a 17 or Colt 6920?

Leupold Scope Its very similar to the one I recommended above, especially if you go with the fine crosshair duplex. I believe the only difference are the turrets and their housing or whatever it's technically called. |

We have been extremely happy with the Nikon scopes we have on our his& hers 10-22s.
There is better glass out there, way better, but I don't think there is better glass for the price. Power, reticle, size depends on purpose of course. We like the smaller, intermediate power variables with cross hairs. This is a general purpose set up. |

Hi Guys, I just bought a Kidd 10/22 with the UWL barrel. What is a good scope to put on this beast? Thanks. The Shepherd P22LR is probably the scope you are looking for, albeit at a price that you won't want to pay. I liked mine enough that I replaced it when it was stolen.... Nothing else on the market will allow you to shoot .22LR at long range like a Shepherd. |

Holy Crap!! I just looked this up and it's like $800.
I could buy a lot of Taco Bell for that! Quoted:

Nothing else on the market will allow you to shoot .22LR at long range like a Shepherd. What you are missing is that it allows you to do something other scopes don't... Which is allow you to shoot a rim fire at very long ranges. With a 35yd zero, a .22 LR drops almost 6" to 100 yards, that drop gets exponentially worse with every hundred yards you shoot.. With the shepherd reticle, you have ranging stadia that allow you to make long distance shots without having to crank knobs or count mils. The circles represent a 9" object ( like a squirrel,.... Or a blue helmet...), you just find the circle that fits the object and pull the trigger. There are also windage and elevation stadia to help you compensate for wind and shooting up or down inclines. It works, and it's dead on with standard velocity ammo. If the idea of rim fire shooting at long ranges, read the link below and consider what a valuable tool you would have post-SHTF especially with a suppressor... https://www.hickokfamilygenealogy.com/Lethality_of_the_22_LR.html |
| I got a Nikon Prostaff Target EFR 3-9x with adjustable objective mounted on my Ruger 10/22 Target Tactical. It is a great scope for all my target shooting needs. I bought another one of these scopes to put on my Benjamin LE392 air rifle. If I ever needed to mount a scope on another .22lr rifle, I'll stick with this scope. |

Same as 22caliberKIDD, I like the Leupold VX-II's with Adjustable Objective and have used them on a few 10/22's. This is one of the earlier versions of the Mark AR: ![]() |

Im in the .22 scope market as well and have been eye balling this little 2-7x 32 Nikon P-rimfire http://www.nikonsportoptics.com/Nikon-Products/Riflescopes/P-Rimfire-2-7x32-Matte-BDC-150.html Any thoughts on this scope? Get this one, instead. http://www.nikonsportoptics.com/Nikon-Products/Riflescopes/P-Rimfire-2-7x32-Nikoplex-with-Extra-Turret.html It comes with two sets of turrets depending on whether you're using standard or hyper-velocity 22 ammo. The reticle has the Niko-Plex style with the fine-wire crosshairs rather than the heavier BDC lines. Also, the yardages are already indicated on the ballistic turrets; all you have to do is zero at 50 yards and then it has the elevations pre-marked for 75, 100, 125, and 150. Yes, ammo variances may deviate slightly, but it will definitely put you in the right zip code when making longer distance shots. |

Gonna order this guy up |
I agree that PA has some great customer service and good scopes for the money as I have a few but the glass is not as clear and bright as the PFI which seems to be a lot like the Shepard as it has a drop compensation reticle in 10 yard increments for suppressed on the left and high velocity on right with 10mph wind adjustments for 9" targets out to 220 yards. Once sighted at 50, the reticle does the rest. It features very fast target acquisition. But I'm not a fan or anything. I've never seen a Shepard but would be interested in checking one out.

Primary Arms has a new scope with a .22LR BDC reticle. Given their reputation and customer support I'd give them a shot before the other scopes in this thread. |

I personally went with a 4x32 Nikon Prostaff Rimfire, call me crazy but I think 9x is way overkill for a .22lr that I plan to use for plinking and hunting. If I was going to get a variable power scope I would opt for something 2-7x32. Same here. I have no regrets. Good glass, good turrets, good, consistent adjustments. My only complaint is the plastic turret caps. Other than that, I think it rates among the ideal all around 10/22 scopes. |

| What do y'all think of this one? The price and reviews are tempting. |
|
I don't own one but if I were looking for a lower power scope I would seriously consider this one because of the Mil-Mil Reticle. Redfield is made by Leupold and the glass is incredibly clear and bright especially at this price point. This particular optic is part of the Revenge series and is made in the Philippines but in American Factories.

This one gets a lot of praise from the fellas on SH. It's a Midway Exclusive...

I agree with a post on page 1. I rarely shoot game beyond 60 yards. So I bought a scope with a large field of view to bring in more light. The Sig Sauer CP1 works great for me. This project has been a few years in the making. Bought the gun, then the bull barrel, then the Hogue rubber stock, Then modified the trigger, then the suppressor and the scope. Finally cerakoted it all myself. The only thing original is the bolt and receiver.
I also found a way to get vinyl spray paint to stick to rubber. Check out my thread in refinishing. painting a rubber stock DIY with video |
