Are these complete uppers any good? http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_7_22/1427738_WTS__Chiappa_M4_22lr_complete_upper_x_2_28rd_mags__199_shipped.html   I'm sure this has been discussed but what looks like a good deal isn't always. Thanks

I bought one and took it apart before I ever fired it.  Had the barrel turned down to pencil contour, added a carbon fiber hand guard, and a Phantom FH.  When it all went together, it had an issue with light primer strikes.  I took it apart and there is a notch in the firing pin plate (for lack of better term) that is pinned so the pin can't move beyond a certain point in either direction.  I filed about .002" off the side that would allow it to travel a little further and no problems since.

That's a good looking stick. I really want a dedicated 22 upper, but can't decide which way to go. Any other suggestions or other options I should consider?

I'd recommend spending a little more and buying a TACCOM3, CMMG or maybe a 2nd generation DPMS dedicated upper.  If your interested in building your own TACCOM3 Or CMMG for barrel and bolt.

Sometimes these are really cheap during black friday sales. Not the best upper but it seems service-able.

If I got one at a huge discount, I'd throw a $40 anderson slick side on the upper.
