So I bought this used 10/22 at the LGS a few weeks ago, looks like a 2007 production.  It has a weaver style rail, and I'm just curious if this is something that came with the rifle or if it was probably drilled by the previous owner for the rail.  I bought it for the sole purpose of selling off the main parts and just building around the receiver.  Probably go to a picatinny style rail in the future. Any recommendations for a bull barrel?  Thanks guys.

I bought a new one in 2011, it came with a rail. All I have to do is install it. I haven't because I'm using the iron sights.

I'm not at home, but I think my 10/22 TD had two sets of holes like that also.

How much are you looking to spend, I'm getting ready to start on my 10/22 and have been looking at Green Mountain great prices and seem to get good reviews,  and there are a lot of more expensive ones.

$200 seems at be my budget for the barrel.  I've been looking at a few companies, including PWS and Green Mountain, but wanted some real experience info on them before I jump into buying.

Get a integrally suppressed barrel. Innovative arms makes one and some other companies.

My 1987 vintage 10/22 had the same holes drilled in it the day I took it out of the box.

All 10/22s are drilled and tapped for scope rails from the factory.

Kidd http://www.coolguyguns.com/ and Feddersen http://www.1022rifle.com/ are considered to be the most accurate barrels around.

If you wanted to save some weight, there is Green Mountain http://www.gmriflebarrel.com/and Whistling Pig http://www.wpgbc.com/Default.asp.

I have an Adams & Bennett I bought from the EE.

It feeds Federal bulk pack ammo without any problems and is pretty accurate.

I was thinking between these two KIDD barrels...

Ultra Lightweight

Fluted Match

Are there any real accuracy differences between 16 and 18 inches for a .22?

Would cerekoting the receiver cause any fitment issues? Not sure what kind of tolerances a 10/22 has.
