Here is my story. Bought a complete receiver and trigger group from their X-Ring line and then a tacsol fluted barrel in matte green.

When I try to insert the barrel, it ain't even close to fitting. Low and behold I find out after calling Tacsol that you have to seriously sand down the shank on barrel to get it to fit.

I am not talking mild sanding, I am talking all the way through the anondized color coating and into the metal.

Tacsol said this is due to their x-ring receivers being made to such high tolerances and the barrels being made to fit in Ruger and other receivers. If that is the case, they have a tacsol barrel for use with tacsol receivers?

Nope, I am having to pay a gunsmith to assemble it out of concern of sanding it too much and making the gun un-safe.

Im a idiot, im sorry. I read your post as if you was installing the tacsol barrel into a OEM ruger receiver..

Yes, your right. their barrels should mate up perfectly with their line of receivers..

If it showed up and slip fit into the receiver, I would of returned it.
Tighter is better.

Uhhh, ever fit a Kidd barrel? Slip fit(with a little persuasion)and voila, you've got one of the most accurate barrels out there!

No sanding needed. Put the barrel into the freezer for awhile. Get a blow drier or heat gun. Heat up the barrel end of the receiver &take the barrel out of the freezer. Put some lube on the chamber insert of the barrel. Should slip in fine. Align the extractor & groove in barrel hold till the temp of the two pieces equalize.

Put ice in a zip lock bag at the interface with the receiver. Let it chill for awhile then heat the receiver end.
