| not to answer your question about Clark's modification.... but the process usually is to set the barrel back, and shorten the chamber end of the barrel by the same amount, which allows the barrel to be rechambered with a match or auto/match chamber reamer....probably to reduce headspace on the bolt at the same time.... |

Done this myself. Made a big difference in accuracy. Cut group size by half or better.
Turning the breech shorter is a bitch. The extractor slot makes for an interrupted cut. Tore hell out of the lathe cutter. If I remember right I only shortened by .1 inch. Have to deepen the extractor slot and make a spacer for the clamp. |
