I have one of these from a deceased family member. Its in rough shape. Stock is cracked on forend and has been "hand checkered" by what I would guess is a kid.  Finish has a fair amount of surface rust/corrosion. The action works and I suspect it would even be safe to fire but whats the point?

I considered taking it to a gun buy back as junk but Im not sure.  Can anyone tell me where to find out if its worth anything?

If someone knows anything I suppose I could throw up some pics if need be.

Quick Goggle search shows that Winchester Model 99s are all over the place in value depending on condition.  Anywhere from $200 for a beater to $2000 for one in LNIB condition.  Pic would help.  In the condition you've describe, I'd say you're in the $200 catagory.

I'd keep the gun and do minor repairs to put it into service.

If nothing else, they are entertaining; hand one to someone that has never seen one before.

Just did a google search.  That is an interesting rifle, I would keep it and fix it.
