Please read what issues I am having before saying yes or no...

I have the threaded barrel version, bought about a month ago.

When I go to take off the grip, I see it has a hex head.  No big deal, at all but my Magpul and stock Daniel Defense both came with flat head screws.

Next, when I take off the 15-22 grip, I see two small springs and two indentions in the grip for the springs....

I know the other grips will have 1 indent for the selector switch but the 15-22 has 2?

Do I need to get a grip made for this or do I just stuff the spring flush?

(I know these are the same style grips but it is an example before I go buy another grip and one I possibly won't need/be able to use).

One spring is smaller and blue and the other, slightly larger spring, is for the selector.

I have a MOE+ that I installed.  It is solid where the take down pin spring (the rear one) sit.  You could drill out a small hole, but it just fits fine as is and just puts a little more pressure on the take down pin.

The take down on mine (perhaps because it is new) is already uncomfortable enough....

You could always snip a coil or two off the spring.

Mine works fine with any AR grips without the indent for the take down spring.  Try installing one, if the pin is too tight then just drill a small indent in the grip to give it a little more relief

I have a Rock River Arms complete lower that had a hex head screw on the pistol grip.

Noted but still not the part I was having issues with.

I figured that wouldn't matter but I wanted to get all of the info I had in front of me in the thread.

the larger diameter spring is for the detent in the safety/fire selector switch.   the smaller spring is for the detent so the rear takedown pin will not come out.   it will be fine if you put a replacement on and tighten it down.

on a .223 the detent for the rear takedown pin is captured by the stock.

flat head screw or hex head cap screw for the grip is just a choice.

I have since figured out what the springs do but my concern was using a grip without that indent putting more pressure on the takedown pushpin.

I bought the grip so I'll be figuring it out anyway.
