| I have a 10/22 takedown with the silver paint, but I would like it to be black. Would it screw anything up ( in terms of rifle function ) if I striped all the paint off of the reciever and sent it off to be annodized black? |
| On second thought this may not work. I just remebered the takedown components are pressed into the reciever, and I dont know if putting those parts through the annodizing process will hurt them in any way. I may be stuck with just painting it, whats a good durable paint that would work for this? |
| I would hold out for a while longer. I believe Ruger will be introducing this in different flavors this year. I have nothing to back this up other than seeing a Multicam stocked unit and a Mossy Oak stocked gun so maybe they will introduce something for the SHOT show? I guess if there is a demand or enough people show interest. it might happen. |

The problem I have is that I allready have a form 1 in process to SBR this particular rifle, I might have jumped the gun a little on this one but the damage is allready done. I think I will have to talk to some smiths and see what might be possible.
ETA: I think I can take apart the working mechanisms of the barrel tensioner but there will still be a steel insert in the reciever. Any one know what happens when you put steel through the annodizing process? |
