I know, it's a bit late in the game, but let's ignore that for now.

I have plenty of centerfire rifles and ammo, but I want to get into .22s again.  I had a bolt-action as a kid, but never really have gotten back into them.

I am looking for one pistol and one semi-auto rifle.  I would like the option to suppress them both down the road.

What would be the pistol and rifle combo to go with?

What would be the ammo of choice for a bulk buy?  Federal, CCI?

Thanks for the help!

10/22 and SR-22 or 22/45 Lite

For ammo, whatever you find for cheap should work (except Remington Golden Bullet) copper plated is better than unplated. CCI MiniMags if you want 99.9999% reliable ammo, not necessary for plinking though.

Try the Smith and Wesson MP15-22 (If you can find one) as a rifle. I don't know anyone who has a MP15- 22 that does not like it. Perhaps a Walther P22 if they make a variant with a threaded barrel? Federal Bulk Ammo.

What're ya looking for threaded rifle? CZ & Savage both make a threaded bbl bolt action. My CZ 452 American with the Target bbl is scary accurate.

I just bought a Savage semi as it seems to be the only semi made right now with a threaded bbl.

Handguns are a bit more open for options. With Ruger & Browning, you can either buy OEM threaded bbl or simply swap in a Tactical Solutions bbl. Seems like the S&W M&P .22 is offered as threaded but their triggers are HORRIBLE, IMO. Sig also offers their Mosquito with a threaded bbl but their DA trigger is 10+ lbs.
