I bought this locally the other day and I have to say it is the ugliest rifle that I own. I wished I had taken a pic of it before I took the scope off, but it's there to see. I bought it because it had a threaded Tactical Solutions barrel and I have been wanting a threaded 10-22 for my Sparrow for a while now. It has a Fajen non adjustable stock ( with special modifications...lol), Volquartsen drop in trigger assembly with a Hornet custom TGA trigger instead of the Volquartsen, and a tac solutions rail. I'm going to take the stock off tonight and take a good look at the trigger assembly. This may be a Frankenrifle, but it sure shoots well. The trigger pull is light and very clean, probably the best I have ever felt on a 10-22. I shot really good groups today with a cheap Simmons I just threw on to see how it shot.

That's nice. Looks like a good shooter. I need to get my 10/22 threaded so I can try my gemtech alpine on it.

Wow, thats some fancy j.b. weld grip texture. That set up ain't bad. Shoots well, and could be pretty with some clean up work.

I'm gonna guess black silicone?

JB weld would hurt.

no.  its definitely closer to jb weld than black silicone.  most likely jb weld, devcon, or pc-7.

gime a dremel, dust mask and 15 minutes. I'd have that texture cleaned off. scuff it with a scotch pad and wipe it off, spray it with some texture black harley engine case paint. closest thing i've found to what boyds puts on their tacticool stock.

I haven't experimented too much with textured finishes.  But I have tried Rust-oleum fine textured paint (feels like sandpaper) and Rust-oleum stone texture (looks the best on grips and forearm).  These are the easier to apply then j-b weld or devcon.

Well I put a Houge stock on it, the Fajen cheek rest was just way to high for me and it just didn't feel natural. I took it to the farm today and put it to the test and was a little disappointed. The Houge feels great to me, shoulders well and length is spot on. The only thing I changed from last shooting session to this one was the stock. I went from dime size groups to quarter size groups with the Houge. I will say the Fajen is pretty rigid, more so than the Houge don't know if that is part of it or maybe it was just an off day for me. I did manage to shoot one dime size group out of eight so I'm hoping it was just me. The Houge looks and feels MUCH better to me though.
