I've been in the market for a Marlin 60 for a while.  i just want a basic .22 to teach my kids how to shoot.  I found a guy selling his used Marlin, but won't give me a price.  I've found ranges anywhere from $70 to around $200 new.

Can anyone clarify what a used one is worth so I don't lowball, but don't get ripped off either.  It has a scope on it (Gamewinner).

Thanks!

Offer him $125.00. All he can say is "no".

yeah, being used I wouldn't pay over $150, but feel $100 would be lowballing, so I would say the same, $125

what is condition of rifle & scope?
what is power on scope?

i got mine w/o scope for $75 in really nice condition.
i would think 100 -130, think 150 is too much
if your gonna spend 150 get a 10/22

make him an offer & prepare to negotiate.

The scope probably (Chinese (?) I'm not familiar with that one, ymmv),  isn't worth keeping, so I don't think 100 would be a really rude offer by any means unless it's pristine.

If he balks, ask him if he'll take 100 for the rifle and let him keep the scope?

I bought a near mint one for $100 and an excellent condition one for $50 locally.  I would offer $80 - $100 if I were you.
