Hey guys,
I have some Tech Sights on my 10/22, which I love. I just bought a Insight MRDS and an American Defense mount. The only issue I'm having is finding a rail that is short enough to run in front or that will fit over top of the rear sight. Anyone have suggestions for a rail? Thanks in advance! |
Or these.

those generic rails won't be drilled to match the holes in the 10/22 reciever.
you can chop an OEM rail which is probably the cheapest option, but it's a Weaver & 3/8" dovetail hybrid and will only give you two slots to position anything. one comes with every rifle and many people upgrade, so you may be able to find one at a local cgunshow or in the EE. you can buy an inexpensive Picatinny rail, such as the Weaver 430T and chop it, clean it up to match the end of a slot and touch up the anodizing with Aluminum Black if you wish, or MWG has a shorty rail for $19 plus shipping http://www.mwgco.com/ar-15_accessories/product/SLR-1022-BSX.html or, if you can find a two piece Weaver base for a 10/22 just don't use the rear half. before i found the MWG shorty rail i bought a 430T rail with plans to chop it. i wouldn't chop a high end rail, or an extended rail. good way to waste money. Midway sells the Weaver 430T, but they don't call it that. search for Picatinny rails and look for the inexpensive one made by Weaver. saves on shipping if you're already getting stuff from there. |
