I just got my new Nikon 3-9x40 scope for my stock 1022 yesterday.
What should I get in a scope mount that will give me the right setup? |

What about the proper rings? What height should I get? the Dednutz is a one piece mount that includes the rings. seems like a decent mount, unless you need to push the scope further forward than it's rings will allow.there's alwo the Weigand Integramount one piece base and rings. i'm just guessing but a 40mm objective will probably need medium height rings with most bases, but some Picatinny bases are taller than others and will need shorter rings, and not all brands of rings are the same height for their name. soo... "it depends". if you have a 40mm obj on a scope with a 1" tube the bell of the objective will be about 7mm lower than the tube of the scope. the barrel of the 10/22 is lower than the receiver, so it's not likely to cause a problem. some people run taller rings to get a better positioning of the scope, or perhaps simply because that's the rings they had on d, or found. some people just seem to like the scope higher or lower. |

He then bought one and mounted his in a Deadnutz mount and it is fantastic. I mounted mine in Burris rings but wish I had gone with the Deadnutz mount now. |
