It did. It's the Black and Tan color scheme for the 15/22. I can do sponge camo but I'm not this good.

Not really a build, just a Duracoat job. Has an Aimpoint Comp M2 on it in this pic, currently wears a Redfield Counterstrike with a red laser, because it's cool The Surefire Scout has an adapter with a 260 Lumen Malkoff M60 LED with an optic, makes a great skunk shooter! Magpul MOE+ grip, Palmetto upgraded trigger assembly will be dropped in on Monday. These things are a blast!

Looks pretty cool!  Im not too familiar with duracoat and I know the .22's dont build a crazy amount of heat, but does the duracoat hold up on the barrels?

Thanks!  I've done quite a few guns with it (I do it on the side for people in the evenings) and I've never heard a complaint yet. It's pretty durable, but there's no miracle finishes, they all come off if you scrape them too hard. They do make the basic colors in a high heat bake on version, but I think the regular stuff is good to 450* (don't quote me, I'll need to go check my facts) and I figure if you heat a barrel up to 450*, it's probably too hot to handle anyhow!

Gosh, you guys make me envious with your tricked out 15/22s. I've been to maybe 8 different gun shops here in Montana and have never found anything except the standard black Sport model, generally without a threaded barrel. Someone mentioned installing a Geissele SSA trigger into theirs. That's a pretty pricy upgrade but I do say they are splendid triggers. I put Geissele SSA-E triggers in all my AR-15s and AR-10s. They are SWEET. Has anyone tried his ALG Defense triggers in a 15/22? And hurray to all of us, we finally won an election.

Well my build is about compete.  15-22 SBR, 4.5 inch barrel and form 1 suppressor.  I ceracoted the upper, lower, handguard, and red dot in Magpul FDE.  I still need to find a short vertical grip in FDE. Overall I am very happy,  hope to test it out on Thanksgiving.

How are you guys removing the stock handguards?

What kind of barrel and barrel nut are you replacing it with?

You are going to need a 15-22 specific barrel nut wrench, and tacticool sells a standard AR style barrel nut so you can mount up regular hand guards

Recently revamped mine for a more rigid feel. I sure wish someone would come along and build aluminum receivers for these things. If not the pair then just the upper would do.

Picked up a custom-length PRI top rail made to use with their reproduction retro Gen II tubes, and had to notch it to clear the FF RAS locking ring. I also added a pair of medium PRI rings and a spare NT4 flash hider I had laying around.

4.5" barrel.  I used a tactical cool 22 barrel nut removal tool to first remove it. I placed a EMR 15" hand guard on it but I hated the timing issue/looseness since you can't torque it down if your timing is off a little.

That is awesome Buck. What is the length of the barrel? Looks like the MP 15/22 SBR is getting more popular and with good reason.

Also, no freeloading.

You guys have some sweet custom mods and paint jobs. I need to get off my ass and start working on mine. Put a slide fire on it but haven't had time to test it yet. Have to change out the flash hider with the one that came with the kit. Haven't checked but presuming it's not pinned. Been busy with load development on my 338 Lapua magnum. That rifle eats my reloading budget fast so need to start shooting the 22 more often.

Not a lot of info on the new NCStar VISM rail for the 15-22.

This 15" model was $71 shipped and came with the M&P15-22 barrel nut tool so you can remove your stock rail.  Can't complain about that!  It also comes with a spacer between the rail and upper so that there is no gap.

In hindsight I should have bought the 13" version, but this 15" was $6 more.

The OD is large, reminds me of the Samson rails at about 1.7".  That spacer adds to the overall length, the threaded part of my mask is covered by the 15" rail on a 16" barrel.  Bad weather here so no shooting yet, but it feels solid enough and adds some weight.

FYI - To install the VISM you need a standard AR-15 barrel nut wrench and a castle nut wrench.  They use a wacky barrel nut and the jam nut is a castle nut.

Bought it from place called Bass Distributing:
https://outdoor.bassdistributing.com/index.php?route=product/search&search=ncstar%2015-22

EDIT:  Dang, wish I would have visited here earlier.  Those MK12 clones are really really nice.  Wow.

A buddy of mine is selling his MP15-22 in pink for $400 (about $310 USD).  It’s unfired and I was thinking if it was worth it to build something with it?

I asked the wife if she wanted it, but she didn't want a pink gun, so it'll end up getting rattle canned if I get it.

I enjoy the shit out of mine.  I am always bringing new shooters to the range and it gets shot all day I can barely load mags fast enough for people.  They have a blast.

Been a while since this has seen daylight. I think I got sick of the plastic rail feel that it came with. Nothing tacticool 22 and a cheap rail from Primary Arms couldn't solve. Little longer that I like but man, I forgot just how fun this was to shoot!
