Im not too familiar with duracoat and I know the .22's dont build a crazy amount of heat, but does the duracoat hold up on the barrels? Thanks! I've done quite a few guns with it (I do it on the side for people in the evenings) and I've never heard a complaint yet. It's pretty durable, but there's no miracle finishes, they all come off if you scrape them too hard. They do make the basic colors in a high heat bake on version, but I think the regular stuff is good to 450* (don't quote me, I'll need to go check my facts) and I figure if you heat a barrel up to 450*, it's probably too hot to handle anyhow! |

Gosh, you guys make me envious with your tricked out 15/22s. I've been to maybe 8 different gun shops here in Montana and have never found anything except the standard black Sport model, generally without a threaded barrel. Someone mentioned installing a Geissele SSA trigger into theirs. That's a pretty pricy upgrade but I do say they are splendid triggers. I put Geissele SSA-E triggers in all my AR-15s and AR-10s. They are SWEET. Has anyone tried his ALG Defense triggers in a 15/22? And hurray to all of us, we finally won an election.

How are you guys removing the stock handguards?
What kind of barrel and barrel nut are you replacing it with? |

I love it. |

You guys have some sweet custom mods and paint jobs. I need to get off my ass and start working on mine. Put a slide fire on it but haven't had time to test it yet. Have to change out the flash hider with the one that came with the kit. Haven't checked but presuming it's not pinned. Been busy with load development on my 338 Lapua magnum. That rifle eats my reloading budget fast so need to start shooting the 22 more often.

It's not pinned. Just changed it out.

A buddy of mine is selling his MP15-22 in pink for $400 (about $310 USD). It’s unfired and I was thinking if it was worth it to build something with it?
I asked the wife if she wanted it, but she didn't want a pink gun, so it'll end up getting rattle canned if I get it. |
