My counterpart just walked in with this rifle that has been in the family for at least 50 years wanting to know more about it.  I've done the "google is your friend" search, but was wondering if anyone has anything interesting regarding the weapon that they can share?

Box is designed to hold the weapon in the break-down condition.  Obviously made for the weapon by ouch hate the clips that hold it in place.

Sorry, cell phone was all I had available.  Looks pretty clean; 85-90%.  Blue'ing is pretty good, the old scope is intact and clear.  Wood is 95-98%.

Sweet old rifle. Too bad it was drilled for the scope mount though, it devalues it for the collectors.
I have one made circa 1948, it's quite reliable, and that flat receiver and light weight make it very easy to carry in the woods.

That is what I told him too.  The box set up is pretty cool, but it uses spring clips to hold it in and I cringed each time he pulled it out and then returned it to the box.

Are those spring clips like broom-closet clips?
If so, that's awful, downright abusive.
Are you going to end up as the owner?
I've had mine for around twenty-five years; gone through several 10-22s and a bunch of bolt action .22s in that time, but I just won't part with my old Win. 63.

No.  I'm the resident "gun nut" so anything they come across they bring to me for research.

And yes, just like the broom clips.  It really HURTS to watch/hear it go in, but it's not my weapon.

I'd like to have it, but as I am currently selling some of my stuff to make sure my son gets his therapies, this won't even show up on my "want" list.
