Hey all, a friend of mine has a S&W mp 15-22 and wants to make his stock collapsable but its pinned because we live in the great state of NY. I thought i remembered reading somewhere that .22's are not subject to the awb of 94 which im sure you all know is still the doctrine for all of us here behind enemy lines. so  my two questions are 1.) is it legal to have a collapsable stock on a .22 and 2.) if so how would you unpin it or swap out the stock since the MP 15-22 isnt built exactly to the spec of its big brother

IN CT an assault weapon is defined by the features(pistol grip, flas hider, removable mag, telesoping stock, ect...) on a semiauto rifle regardless of its caliber

I have the same rifle, and removing the pin is not allowed in our fucked up state.

Do you just want an adjustable stock or do you need the stock adjusted?

I bought the 15-22 for my 11yr old son and moved the stock in a bit then repinned it so the rifle fit him better.
